NewS' dacing skills

right. so i'm here again with yet another one of my "ponderings" about stuff which may seem to many, nonsense and a waste of time. am i even allowed to post 'em here? just tell me if not.. XDXDXD

anyway, for some reason, i feel like i'm compelled to comment/ask about their skills in dancing (coz really, i need to be educated). and because i have learned my lesson, this will be on LJ cut. *evil grin*

so i have been street dancing since god knows when but i sorta gave up my dream of becoming the next britney spears when i realized that her boobs are fake film is my passion. let's face it. JE kids know how to shake what their momma gave 'em though some do it better than others. since this is a NewS community, i'd concentrate on them (but i must admit tsubasa and junnosuke are wayne robsons).

Pi - there's something quite not right about how Pi dances. sure, he knows the steps (perhaps from weeks of rehearsals) but maybe because he's thin as a twig, it looks awkward. or maybe it's just too gay. OMFG!! have you seen that sawarenai solo perf of his?? *faints* it's wrong. just wrong. and someone please cut his damned pinkie!!! aish!!! i just dont get his "am-i-gonna-pick-my-nose-or-not?-pick-my-nose-or-not?-stay-tuned-to-find-out" gesture. (i hope you got what i was trying to explain) if it's part of the choreo, screw it!!!

Koyama - now Koyama would've been kicked out of the formal dance classes. HE IS GOOD, no doubt about that. but asdfghjkl!! he's too all over the place! there's such a thing as blocking, honey. stay put. your limbs are too wiggly. he has a lot of unnecessary movements but i think he's good in trying to be jell-o <- is supposed to be a complement.

Nishikido - Ryo's ayt. i don't have much things to say about him. maybe good posture would be nicer.. and i think he dances better when he's with KJ8 but hey, it's just me and my typhoid.

Uchi - now this kid is bad (i can't think of a euphemism). really. much as id slash my wrist to see him face to face, i sometimes wonder if he even knows what he's doing. he forgets the steps (check out kibou pv 0:40), is out of timing and his freestyle dancing is @_______@ the worst is when he looks at the person next to him to follow the steps. X____x boy, are you lucky you are beautiful.

Shige - i've said it before and immona say it again. i really don't see much purpose of him in the group except to fuel my libido. he's not great, he's not bad, i just don't notice him (except of course if the camera's focused on the crotch). performance-wise he's a wallflower but in photoshoots, dang!!! *refer to avatar*

Tegoshi - yuki's right. tego's the normal one in NewS (along with massu). the kid can really dance. like normally. nothing exagerrated, nothing missing. i really have this feeling that tego belongs in a barrel would be a really really big star someday (if he isn't already) so yey for yuya!

Kusano - oh man, kusa-chan knows how to rock. he got that "umph" and "bang" and it shows through his performances. i so enjoy watching him move and do cartwheels and stuff but (yes, there's a but) it's as if he has to constantly remind himself that he has ADHD //must go boink! must hop like a kangaroo!//. my gawd! the energy! the energy! i think if he would stop moving around, the pressure of the energy will build up and he'd blow off into little pieces of kusanoness. but yeah, he is amazing. and sexy when dancing.

Massu - of course, immona save the best for last. massu is mamocolossal. his dancing is pefect in such a way that his movements are really calculated and right.right angles, right extensions, right pauses. im sure their trainor loves massu (but not in a i-wanna-take-you-home sorta way). omg. i love massu. who doesn't love massu when he's dancing? c'mon. watch their perfs . he can shift from being genki to sexy in a heartbeat. he will make paula abdul proud.

ok, done. whew. that was fun.

if you say uchi forgets his moves then i'll say tegoshi is guilty of the same crime... try watching summary he wasn't just a lil off but way off...

now don't get me wrong I do love tegoshi but I guess it is fair to say he has his fair share of "oh-i-forgot-my-moves"

Hahah.. (I've been dancing too since almost the day I was born...)
Ryo is like a stiff stick. Uchi can't seem to bother about what his doing. He has no controll over his body. NONE. But he's excused as he can sing... Pi seem to have improved lately. Refering to the early days of their debute and now.. Yeah... But it's still amazing that those boys can dance and sing. I totally love it!

ok, that was what i wanted to say. ryo's like omfg. the tall boys in our school dncing for the field demo!!! iunno, i guess i just never saw pi as a good dancer. he knows the steps though, that's for sure.

my fave dancers are massu and pi (just because i like to stare at him)

shige - poor baby is underestimated - he has big potential and he should show us sth more (it sounds weird oO)

HAHAHA I never noticed that in the Kibou pv before XD he like...starts talking to someone. I'm way more amused by that than I think i should be XD I pretty much agree with you though. And Massu is the greatest dancer ever!!!

Ryo AND Uchi do EVERYTHING better when their with K8...but that's just my opinion ^.^;;

orayt, theater blocking is pretty much like dancing blocking too. of course if you're dancing you ought to know your positions and not be in front of random others. mostly positions and stuff.

LOL!!! Yes there is something not quite right with Pi's dancing. Even though he knows the steps, he is lacking something. I think he is lacking the engery or something to make the dance his own. He just does it because he is supposed to.

The only thing about Koyama's dance that bothers me is his hips! They freak me out! They move too much, too well and it just isn't right.

Ryo's dancing is so so. He can do the steps but he is too stiff. In most of the cherish performances I have seen Ryo is off at the end when everyone spins and drops down. Ryo likes hanging out in the back so he doesn't have to dance.

Uchi can't dance. I haven't noticed him forgetting the moves, I just think that he is trying to get into the dance but he can't dance so it just comes out wrong. And he moves his head too much when he dances.

Tego's dancing is okay, but sometimes he has a pained expression on his face when he is dancing.

Kusano is my favorite dancer in News hands down. When Kusa dances I squeal.

I agree about YamaP... he knows the steps but there's somethin' wrong with his dancing I think he is not enough genki and that is LOL

As for Uchi chan... OKAY, I think I am such a blind fangirl since I totally LOVE his dancing!! XD;;; yeps, that's so true... even though he does seem to not know what he's doing sometimes (I dun think that he's like that by all the time, but it's only my opinion ne^^;;)

haha, No one is ideal so they forget steps from time to time XD;;;

Massu = smex? eeek, okay, I think I don't pay too much attention to him XD; I'm too busy with staring at RyoChi O_O;;;

*laughs* a lot of it depends on the clips you watch. In more recent clips their dancing, just like their singing voices, has improved. P is actually pretty smooth anymore. I've noticed in my 15 or so Teppen performances *laughs*

You're right about Koyama, you're right about Uchi.. Ryo has his moments. He is stiff but sometimes.. sekushi dansu ryo! kya~

Now the last four I'm going to squeal about, because in my opinion the youngest of NEWS are the best at everything. *ducks* I think Shige has a slight stage-fright problem. If you watch him on closed-set performances, he has a tendency to be more into the dancing. Most people don't notice, tho, because most people don't notice Shige... someday he'll surprise people. Remind me to send you the Utaban version of Cherish (Shige is the smex in that one). Then again, I'm slightly Shige-centric, lately.

Kusano's great (tho he can't calm down for a second) Massu's great (tho he can't dance sexily yet.. he's too energetic) but Tego is getting better, at everything... Though what can you expect from the boy, it must be hard dancing with that monster that lives in his pants Its ok. I'm going to hell anyway. :D

@___@ Wow I'm impressed that you can pick out all that from watching performances. I kind of...concentrate more on the music and stuff. I can analyze the voices better than the movements 8D;;

I love Kusano and Massu's dancing the most though, so I mostly agree with you XDXD;; Pi's dancing is kind of awkward, especially in Summary when he's dancing by himself for the opening to I ZA NA I ZU KI.

And I agree with whoever mentioned it somewhere up there ^. wFL's dancing was very very impressive (Lead~!!!) so when I got into JE afterwards, their rather awkward choreography and out-of-synch-ness (what's weird is that KAT-TUN were in synch while they were still a back up group of dancers, but they fall out of synch once they're all big and popular like now @_@;; WHAT HAPPENED?) was very noticeable ._.;

yeah, i noticed that about kay-tun too.. maybe it's coz it's harder to dance while singing and trying to look hot in front of the cam as opposed to merely complementing the singers..

Millions of NewS fans are gonna kill me for this but I really agree with you that Yamapi's dancing is..a bit..too GAY. I don't need to explain further on this as you've done so perfectly XD

but at least some of he boys are trying hard and improving:)
