To commemorate the beginning of [oricon music town] which will start on the 8th Feb, the oricon will provide downloads of KinKi Kids and NEWS's live performances in a limited period. For KinKi Kids, the songs available for download will be [Anniversary] and [Single Medley] performed in Tokyo Dome. It will be available from 29th January noon to 31st January midnight. For NEWS, the songs available for download will be [kibou~yell~] and [yume no kazu dake ai ga umareru] performed in Tokyo International Forum, from 1st February noon till 3rd February midnight. [yume no kazu dake ai ga umareru] as it is not recorded as a single, it's a precious song. 1 song is 315 yen.

So! Is this the new wave of distributing music? "Song of X'Smap" was already sold via download instead of CD. They seem to accept major credit cards...but I don't think I'd be able to navigate thru the site too well. I wonder if overseas customers would be allowed to purchase?

The songs being offered are ones that for the most part, we already know. I wonder what'd happen if a new single or album were to be offered this way. It seems to be going in that direction?

Aww :< I already hugely dislike the idea of buying anything as a digital version only and if the online shops would become (stay..?) as very regional, that wouldn't be too good.
