[Question] What's happening with News? (from a very very outdated fan)

Hi,

I'm not sure if these kind of posts are allowed but here goes anyway.

I was a fan of news (especially yamapi) about 4 years back but sort of lost touch with the entire jpop fandom since around early 2010. I was feeling a bit bored so decided to check up on what's happening with news and also with yamapi. Sadly the fandom blogs which i used to follow are all closed down or no longer updated. :( so, yea i'm pretty lost now.

Will be great if someone can update me on what's up with news the past year and a half! (i know i can scroll through this livejournal but 1 and a half year is a very long time!!!)

Want to find out more about yamapi as well (why does he have no new drama since buzzer beat??????????)

Ahah.. you won't have much to do acutally, because there is not much happening with NEWS at all =D


Well as for Pi, he had a movie called Ashita no Joe, a solo album (supergood superbad?) and a asia tour and right now must be hanging out and working on new ideas =D

Tegomasu had a second tour (Tegomasu no ai) last year, a mini album (Tegomasu no ai =D) a single (aoi benchi)..they sang twice at a hanabi taikai and now are planning a third tour this fall/winter.

Um, NEWS had a single (fighting man) and an album (LIVE) last fall and a few concerts (LIVE LIVE LIVE)

For Yamapi, he has been busy with his solo Asia tour since the beginning of the year. It ended so I suppose he's resting now. He was also very busy with filming his Ashita no Joe movie since last year, so that explains why he hasn't been in any dramas recently.

As for what's up with NEWS, nothing. Literally, nothing.

Tegomasu's concert tour is starting in October. NEWS, nothing. Really.

Alright, since it was the past one and a half years, NEWS released Sakura Girl and Fighting Man singles last year in March and November respectively. They also did a Dome Party concert in Osaka and Tokyo in September 2010. They released an album before the concert in September as well.

They have not been up to anything AT ALL this year. Doesn't seem very likely that there will be anything at all this year considering Tegomasu's concert tour ends 4 days before 2012. *sighs*

The NEWS no news subject is kinda tricky my dear.
Pi is pursuing is solo career and was working on his acting (Ashita no Jo) but no new drama (Looks like Ryo is the It boy for drama now).
News hasn't been working since the live live live tour and album because of various reasons.
Ryo is doing lot's of stuff with Kanjani8 (you should listen to them they're great... what do you mean I'm not objective ^^;) and shooting lots of drama
Tegomasu are working on their duo
Shige is in theater and Koyama is no longer host for the Shounen club.
2 junior groups had their debut (Kisumai and hey say jump) and the JE is currently focusing on them.
So basically that's it

NEWS is MIA as a group, unfortunately =[ After Sakura Girl came out in early 2010, they became fairly inactive as a group, even though they were still doing individual work and Tegomasu released a mini-album and had a tour during the summer. Shige was in a drama called Troubleman. NEWS released a new album last fall and also a new single, Fighting Man, and did a few concert dates in Tokyo and Osaka. Koyama is a newscaster for a show called News Every. Ryo has been active with Kanjani8 and also dramas.

Yamapi was in Code Blue 2 after Buzzer Beat. He filmed Ashita no Joe last year and that was released earlier this year and came out on DVD this month. He also released 2 solo singles, One in a million and Hadakanbou, this year and had solo cons around Asia and Japan. There are now rumors floating around for a few months now that he might make a US debut.

Yup. Basically, you haven't missed much. :/ (But if you haven't heard Fighting Man, the last single they released sometime last year, you should! It's awesome!)
