Just a few questions
Oct. 4th, 2011 06:44 pm1. Are NEWS releasing any new PV's anytime soon?
2. Is Yamapi going to be in any dramas any time soon, cuase i remember one of his recent diaries said he misses acting
and i can edit this out if it causes problems but i really want to know what people think:
3. are JE still popular internationally, or has kpop and "the hallyu wave" overpowered them?

Date: 2011-10-04 05:53 pm (UTC)2. Again, no. Even though he mentioned missing acting, it doesn't mean he's gonna get a role right away. As fans we just have to wait until we hear official news about it, just like with a new single/PV.
3. This depends on your definition of "popular" and "international". JE groups are not exactly known world wide. You're not going to find any of their music playing on the radio in foreign countries or their CDs being sold in local retail stores and they're not marketed as international artists outside of other Asian countries. Fandom is mostly international, but JE doesn't take note of that very much. So personally I don't think that JE has been overpowered. As long as fandom continues on as it does, then they're more or less still "international" without being true international artists.
I hope that answered your questions! :)

3.No. JE, the agency, is doing good (You'll find Johnny in Guinness Book, duh xD). Some groups are doing good and some are doing...bad.
I don't think Kpop has overpowered them because 50% of Kpop fans are also JE/Jpop fans. Kpop artists themselves respect JE groups such as SMAP and Arashi.

Date: 2011-10-04 06:08 pm (UTC)NO... and actually I don't miss his dead-fish acting
NO... cause J industry and K industry don't work in the same way nor do they target the same people. And as a J-pop and K-pop fan I can assure you that they're both very compatible^^

Date: 2011-10-04 09:25 pm (UTC)Most of my friends somehow "switched" to be more K-Pop fans. For me, that's really really sad because I LOVE JE and I hope that I'll never let go of that fandom. It's just a little bit hard to keep it up when all your friends are like "I SO LOVE *INSERTKPOPARTIST* OHMAIGAAAAWD" and you're like "OH, YES; RIIIIIIGHT? BUT I love Nishikido SO MUCH MORE!" and they are like "... ... ok." D:
But I think Johnny is still doing good. I mean, I don't know if anybody read it, but Domoto Tsuyoshi is releasing a solo album. In Europe. I mean, they'll sell it HERE IN MY DAMN SMALL COUNTRY! AUSTRIA WILL GET TSUYOSHI! *___* I was so happy when I heard that, I'm pretty sure Johnny is not 100% ignorant about us international fans. It's just that he is very careful in what he's doing and takes his time to come closer. <3 <3 <3 I'll be here waiting for them. <3

3. NO, but it depends on you... in Indonesia itself because there isn't so many JE artists who come here so so many news about Kpop such as 2PM, SuJu, Miss A, Hyun Bin, Lee Junki (Hallyu Wave)--> I guess because so many Kpop artists who come here recently. But don't worry about JPop Groups, I can see that their fanbases are still strong enough.

Date: 2011-10-05 06:35 am (UTC)Hint : concerts..How to make JE more popular is by promoting their works on public. Doing filming for varieties (which are only us fans who knows) aren't doing any help though.

Date: 2011-10-05 05:35 am (UTC)so IMO NEWS
KAT-TUN lol, i love them!and other JE artists are my ichiban. JE is better.no subject
Date: 2011-10-05 01:39 am (UTC)2) No, no official news of any new roles for Yamapi
3) Well there are usually highs and lows of a particular industry and it's the same with J-Pop and K-Pop. In Hong Kong right now, they get promoted evenly but many are into K-Pop/K-Drama nowadays because that's what they play on TV. Johnny's has enough fanbase to sustain itself!

Date: 2011-10-05 02:24 am (UTC)2. no
3. why does this even matter to you? do you only like JE cause you think it's popular???
i'll never understand why some people are so butthurt about hallyu "stealing japanese spotlight." like what you like because you like it.

Date: 2011-10-05 04:06 am (UTC)2. Yes, but by mean 'soon' is maybe next year?
3. Yes, it has always been like this, since looong time ago. Depends on people whether to choose JE or Kpop. Both are popular, it's just common people know Kpop more than JE.

Date: 2011-10-05 06:01 am (UTC)as for the third, it's pretty obvious that Kpop is getting really more and more popular. but then again, different people have different preferences.

Date: 2011-10-05 12:35 pm (UTC)second qn: nope i don't think so. maybe next year? (plus like what you wrote he mentions about missing acting so most probably is a no.)
third qn: depends. both je and the hallyu wave songs are slightly of a different genre. so it depends on which one that is more appealing to a fan.
plus like what some says. it doesn't matter if the hallyu waves are overpowering. so long as you are a fan of je just continue supporting them. why switch over when they are not popular? and like what yaoilicious_53 wrote. if je promotes their artistes internationally, they will be popular as well. just that the kpop companies are doing more and are willing to spend more on promoting their artistes internationally.
but then with kisumai touring around asia for their debut. i think the time for je to go international is near. that's how i think. :D
(too long. :/)

Date: 2011-10-06 10:09 pm (UTC)02 I miss Yamapi in dramas, I wish he would do a new one. Even though there're people who likes to bash his acting. I like him as an actor.
03 This is IMO, not facts. I still think that JE is popular. I don't think the "hallyu wave" overpowered them, it's just that the kpop is now kinda of a hot thing. And, people who likes kpop, generally speaking like to make things to be bigger than the reality. So, because of this it seems that kpop is really popular between everybody. I think kpop and jpop are equally popular international. But, the Kpop fandom and Jpop fandom are different (of course there're people who enjoys both)
In kpop many youngers are attract by the hot and new trend. And Korea likes to be popular in the world. They boost this a lot. Japan doesn't care, it's nice, but don't care too much about this. And because of this Kpop has a lot of propaganda.
Trends are cycles, kpop is a trend now. Will they still be popular in the future? Maybe yes, maybe no. I think the Jpop fandom is loyal and kpop fandom is obsessed.
I like kpop, but sometimes I get sick of it for many reasons. Anf, I don't get sick of Jpop. But, I'm only talking about myself. And If "the hallyu wave" is really much more popular than Jpop. That's not a big of deal. I don't care I listen what I listen and like.
