Getting tickets to the NEWS concert

Hello, lovely NEWS fans! :) So I just saw the announcement for the tour and would really like to be able to watch NEWS live this time. I know there's still the balloting and all (which I think I have no chance since I don't know anyone who can ballot for me), so it would be a long while before I can get resold tickets, but I just want to gather as much info as I can on this :))

I plan on watching the Osaka con on April 2 (12:30). I have been to Japan last year so I'm not so worried anymore about the visa and logistics, but I'm just quite concerned about getting the concert tickets (especially since I heard that Johnny's is now being strict when it comes to some groups like Arashi and V6).

I have watched an Arashi concert last year and got my ticket through ticket.co.jp, but I learned that now they don't accept international credit cards anymore, so I will need to secure a ticket through different means. Has anyone here tried to buy a ticket through deputies or other ways? How was your experience, and any tips? Also, would anyone have an idea how much good seats (arena or front row standing) cost for Osaka NEWS cons? (the ones for Arashi were hella expensive, but I guess the ones for NEWS will be cheaper, at least?)

from my own research, i think you can try proxy, for example http://www.japanconcerttickets.com/ but i also never try tis service actually lol.. but i m gonna try anyways..

Hi! Thanks for this, I'll look that up and let you know which proxy service I decide to use, because that seems to be the only way we can get tickets now XD Resold tickets are expensive, but it's the best chance to get in for us foreign fans who have no contacts in Japan XD I was really frustrated when ticket.co.jp banned international credit cards :( Anyway, other people in the comments below have suggested other proxies, you might want to check them out too ^^, Let's cross our fingers that Johnny's doesn't decide to do that strict entrance thing with NEWS just yet, I really want to see them even just once!

I second to this. I'm planning to see the concert in Hiroshima. Hope I can get info about the concert as well. Would it also be convenient to travel from Osaka (Kansai) to Hiroshima?

ticket.co.jp is still an option, but you will need to be in Japan when you buy your ticket! i.e. you can buy it a few days before the concert... if you're willing to take the risk of flying to Japan for a concert you don't have tickets for yet ^^; Payment would be made at a conbini. On the bright side, ticket prices sometimes drop dramatically before the end of the selling time, so you might be able to get cheaper tickets this way. I've yet to use a deputy but I've heard excellent things about Agnes (linked in the link above), and I've used her services for other things like buying CDs and concert goods, and she's an excellent seller (very responsive, items are extremely well-packaged etc etc) so I would trust her if I had to use one.

As for myself, the next time I go to a concert, I plan to buy one ticket via a deputy, then once I reach Japan, I'd try to buy more tickets for other dates via ticket.co.jp with conbini payment. At least, that's my current game plan XD That way, I "guarantee" myself at least one night of attending the concert, and the other nights will be bonus if I can get them (extra bonus if tickets are cheap).

I saw the ticket prices for the NEWS con last year, it wasn't too bad! Of course first row arena tickets were still pretty expensive but other than that it was definitely still affordable.

Johnny's is mainly being strict about tickets with Arashi, Eito, Kisumai i.e. the more popular groups. V6 was fine last year (even though black market tickets were crazy expensive because it was their 20th anni), but who knows when J&A will extend that "strictness" to the other groups including V6? :/

Hi! Thanks for your very informative response, as always! :) Yeah, the conbini option sounds nice, though I don't think I can use it since I only plan to be in Japan for a couple of days before the concert (I live in Asia so a short trip to Japan wouldn't be uncalled for especially if I manage to score discounted airline tickets at the local travel expo XD)

Regarding the deputy, I'll check out her site then since many people here seem to find her service excellent. And I'm glad to know NEWS tickets are not that expensive XD Maybe I'll get myself a front row standing ticket at least, from my experience with the Arashi con last year that was a pretty good spot since they go around with the moving carts/platforms anyway :))

I just fervently hope and pray that they won't be strict with NEWS just yet. I'm guessing too that they're being strict with the popular groups because the tickets are being resold at insanely expensive prices. Well, since you said NEWS tickets are relatively affordable, maybe they won't just yet. I really hope so because I want to see them even just once! You should check out the seating plans and the concert reports for previous concerts held at the venue you want to attend!

When I went to V6's concert at Nagoya's Nippon Gaishi Hall, the standing area was all the way at the back, behind the 4th floor stands, and the boys did not come anywhere near it (when they came by in the little trucks they traversed the passageway between the 2nd and 3rd floor stands). On the other hand, at Yokohama Arena, I heard that the standing area is between the stands and the arena! So you actually get a pretty good view of the stage, plus (at least in V6's case, may differ for other cons) the boys walked right through the standing area before boarding the little trucks so lots of fans in the standing area received fanservice etc haha.

I'm glad my guide was helpful and that you got to see Arashi last year! It's still my dream to go see them some time... XD

Hi! I went to the Osaka show last year and I got my ticket through this person.

FYI: Johnny's is now trying to enforce face recognition at concerts though, and they're starting with Shibutani Subaru's solo tour this year. I'm not sure if they're planning on doing that with NEWS yet, but just a heads up.

Hello! Thanks for the response. Yeah, I've heard about the face recognition system too. So it's now sure Johnny's will be using it at Subaru's con? Or still just a rumor? I'm really worried about that even though we still have no idea if they'll be using that with NEWS. I need to get my airline tickets by the first week of February to save money (planning to get it at a travel expo), but by then I still won't have any idea if they do use it at Subaru's con :/

I don't think we know for sure but I think they required pictures and names of everyone who balloted for tickets : \ Once balloting starts (on 2/2) for this tour though, we'll know if they're doing that for this as well. I want to go to the Tokyo Dome shows but I don't think I'll end up making it this year (´;ω;｀) Good luck to both of us and anyone else trying to go!

I also would like to go to one concert. But I'm still unsure.
I've heard that they used the face recognition system already for special VIP tickets at Arashi concerts. But I can not image that they use it for ALL fans.

And if they use this system, the sellers cannot resale the tickets anymore. So if we can't find resale tickets we know they use the face recognition system at NEWS' cons too ... or is that wrong?

Hello! Your English isn't bad at all, and I think you make a good point about the reselling of tickets ^^, So I guess we won't really know if they're going to use that system until the time reselling of tickets usually starts. That being said, I think I'll go check ticket.co.jp a couple of weeks before the start of Subaru's con. Their "strictness" might not be the same across groups but at least we'll have some idea. If what you heard about Arashi tickets is true, I'm guessing it's because of the insanely expensive prices the good seats usually get resold for. And if that's the case, maybe I'll just get front row standing instead of arena to lessen my chances of not getting in the venue XD Anyway, thanks for your insight about this and I hope we both get to go to one of their concerts this time! :)

I went to NEWS' 2015 concert at the Tokyo Dome. I went for two days and got both my tickets through Amanda at http://www.jegoods.com/

My Japanese isn't good enough to get it through normal means so I had to use a proxy, but she is really good and fast on reply. Let her know your budget and she can give you an idea of what seats you can get.

When I went, they didn't check for my ID. I don't know about this year, but I hope not. I plan to go to the Sekisui Heim Super Arena concert in Miyagi this year. I will probably order through Amanda again.

Has anyone been to the venue in Miyagi? Never been and I hope it isn't too hard to get to from Tokyo.

Hello! Wow that's lucky :) I checked out her site yesterday and actually got to talk to her as well regarding the rumors of stricter entrance. Will probably get from her when we're sure we can get the tickets on resale. I do hope as well they won't be that strict just yet XD

I've only been to Kansai so I can't say anything about Miyagi, except that I know there's a shinkansen that runs from Tokyo to Sendai, so I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to get there, though most probably you would have to shell out a bit of money for the fare :))

Hi! According to a couple of sources (fanclub members), the balloting process for NEWS' live tour this year is still the same as previous tours (meaning no picture was required, etc.). So I'm guessing it's still safe for NEWS fans at least. *prays fervently and crosses fingers* The only thing I'm worrying about is if I get a resold ticket and get asked for a fanclub ID at the entrance, but I don't know, they haven't done that before. And I think I can wing it by entering the venue at the last minute when people are already hurrying inside haha XD

But anyway, yeah I don't think they'll be strict with NEWS just yet, as the fan culture doesn't seem to be as crazy as Arashi's (with scalpers reselling tickets at ridiculous prices, some fans registering for multiple membership numbers to ballot for several tickets in different venues, etc.) - I mean of course in the NEWS fandom there are also resellers and fans balloting for numerous tickets but not in the same scale as Arashi's I guess.

So yeah... also the new system for Arashi seems like it's still in an experimental stage so I'm guessing it's just for their arena tour for now. Hope we both make it to one of NEWS' concerts! ^_^

Hi! Hopefully I'll be going to one of the Nagoya cons too (wasn't able to book promo flights for Osaka because the concert sched coincides with the peak of the sakura season), and as far as I know Nagoya con tickets are generally cheaper than Osaka and more so than Tokyo Dome tickets ^^ (I think you'll have to factor in your transportation costs too though)

I was also planning on Osaka but I have my enrollment ceremony and orientation days around that time so there is no possibility for me to go to Osaka hehe ^^
I'll will live in Kyoto so considering the general prices of the con tickets Nagoya will indeed be the best choice!

Oohh, good luck on your exchange, then! ^_^ If you will be living in Kyoto, then Nagoya is indeed your best choice if you can't make it to Osaka... It's easy to travel between Kyoto and Nagoya, it's only a couple of hours via local train (and less than an hour if you have the budget to take the shinkansen).

It's totally fine if you buy your ticket in April, actually that is plenty of time because the seats only get revealed around 2-3 weeks before the concert. You can get blinds but for me, I think I'll opt to have the seats revealed first because they say there are good seats for NEWS cons that are sold at relatively okay prices anyway and I really want to get a good seat this time ^^,

From my experience before, I think the best time to get tickets (if you're also not opting for blinds), is about 1.5 to 2 weeks before the concert... so I will probably try to get mine around the last week of April... Will hopefully get one for one of the May 8 shows... yes let me know if you manage to get a ticket ^^ Good luck to the both of us! :)

I will probably dont have the budget to take the Shinkansen but the local train doesnt sounds too bad! ;3 Don't think I'll mind the wait afterall with the nerves hehe.

I'm still not sure what to do as I totally don't have an idea what tickets costs for the blind seats and tickets for decent seats are at all. Do you have an estimate? ^^

I'm planning on staying in Nagoya that whole weekend but Im still not sure whether school starts on Sunday so until I have my timetable I'm planning on going to the one of May 7, but still not a 100% sure!

Hmm, I'm not too sure about NEWS, but the blinds for Arashi Nagoya con tickets before were at 35,000-40,000 yen. But that's Arashi and we all know how insane Arashi con tix can get resold for :)) My guess is that the blind seats for NEWS will probably sell around the 20,000-25,000 range?

Aahh too bad, I originally wanted to watch on the 7th too, but the flight I got arrives in the evening, so no chance of catching the Saturday show XD

Hi everyone! I was an obsessed fangirl back in 2011, around the time when this page started to die off. I'm going to Japan and april and decided to look up NEWS and see if they have any tours, and turns out THEY DO in Osaka, the days I'm staying there!

TLDR, I'm really interested in buying a ticket as well. Id LOVE to meet up with someone to attend the concert with. If anyone is going [FRIDAY APRIL 1ST] or maybe [SAT APRIL 2 night] please comment or message me!! Maybe we can get tickets together and stand next to eachother.

Or if anyone has any friends who are interested in meeting someone from USA, that would be awesome! When news lost two a couple years ago I cried and regretted never seeing them live, even though it was impossible for me at the time.. NOW ITS POSSIBLE!! ><

Hi!! Wow, you're going to Osaka during sakura season!! Luckyyy~ :) Unfortunately I was not able to get promo flights to Osaka (as well as affordable accommodation) so I decided to change plans and go to Nagoya instead... but anyway, do enjoy Kansai, it's very lovely there ^_^

And yes, same reaction when the two left in 2011... I was still a student then and had no means of going to Japan yet but I still cried that I will never get to see them live as 6-nin... but now that I have a means to go to Japan I really told myself I need to go see NEWS even if they're already just 4-nin!!

I'm so excited as well, I hope the tickets go on sale soon and that everything goes well. Best of luck to us both! ^_^

Well, it is technically not legal to resell tickets, but for foreign fans like me who don't have any friends in the FC, it's basically the only choice :( there are several ways to get resold tickets but the one I'm most familiar with is on ticket.co.jp. You can pay through combini if you'll be in Japan at least a week before the concert (or a few days if you're willing to push it), but otherwise there are deputies who can help you purchase the tickets. I just checked ticket.co.jp but haven't seen any NEWS tickets yet though, so I think ballot results are not out yet...

Do you know how rare or difficult it is to get tickets a week before? I have a friend who will be there around 3/24, who I MIGHT be able to get to buy me a ticket. Otherwise I won't arrive until 3.28, and I'm not sure if either of these are way too risky and I should just pay someone to do it for me >

I think one week before is safe enough. They reply fast and post is also fast so you should be able to receive your ticket on time. But 3-4 days is a bit risky for me. It's possible but just not preferable, I think. Some sellers only sell tickets within their region by then.

Some updates regaring the live tour!

The ballot is already out for the following shows: Hokkaido, Osaka, Shizuoka and Fukuoka!
There are already over 150 tickets available at ticket.co.jp. :3
I guess that the ballot for the other concerts will be somewhere in March.

Also, when checking Johnny's net I noticed that tickets for the News tour are getting general sales for all the shows.
This means that if you are in Japan when these general sales start (you can get the tickets in the Lawson Convenience store using a machine) there is a small chance you can legally get tickets for 8300 yen. I'm not sure how they decide which tickets become general sale tickets but I think the seats will be less good. However, since I'm low on budget and also plan to see KAT-TUN and hopefully Kisumai (I wish they announce their tour soon xD) I'm going to try this method!
