Sorashige Book (22 Oct)
Shige commented on how the day that this episode airs is the last day of Tokyo performances of Green Mile. So, he decided to read some messages about it, leaving out spoilers.
The first message who congratulated him on getting a play role and that it was going to start soon, and Shige commented on how it took some time for him to get around to read it. They said that they were worried about how much Shige was working, and he reassured them that he was fine. They continued on to say that they haven’t read the book nor seen the movie, and are planning to go into the play completely blind.
The next message was a listener who had already seen the play, saying that the beginning was pretty heavy and there were times that they go teary-eyed. They gave their thoughts on the play and praised his performance. They asked about what he did to prepare for the play and if he worked out for it. They said it made them proud to be his fan.
Shige said that he did go to the gym between practices, but that unexpectedly the prisoners tended to be bigger built than the guards. He said that he’s also one of the younger cast members. He repeated how he wants to build a ‘30 year old’s body’ and that over looks he’s training to be more in shape. He said that it feels like he’s been eating a lot of hamburger. Since he uses a lot of energy in the play, he’s trying to eat a lot and keep active.♪ Change the world ♪
For music club this week he played a song from the artist GALANTIS & ROZES that he said that he doesn’t know a whole lot about, but that released a new album recently on Sept 15th. He praised their music and talked a bit about the group and how the looks of their albums is also very striking in addition to their sound. He played their song “Girls on Boys”.
Shige talked about how recently he’s watched some movies, and talked about how he watched the movie “Train To Busan” about a zombie outbreak in South Korea. In Japanese the title is “Shinkansen Final Express”, and he talked about the wordplay, in that usually shinkansen (新幹線) is the name of the bullet train in Japan, but the way it’s written in the title (新感染) it means a ‘new infection’. He said that it was the textbook kind of zombie movie, and how it did it ‘correctly’ and that zombie movies are in the end human dramas. He talked a bit about the plot and main character, and how the idea of a zombie attack that takes play on a train is a fresh idea. He recommended the movie, encouraging zombie fans to go see it. He said that he doesn’t know a whole lot about zombie movies, but that Tegoshi really like zombie movies/shows like the Walking Dead. He said that this movie made him realizing that good zombie movies are really interesting, and there’s still new ways to explore a cliched concept.
The next message was from a listener who wrote in about a vegetable dish Shige wrote about in Popolo, and wanted to know what kind of dish it was.
Another message, that wrote in about how fall was starting and told him to enjoy fall foods.
Shige talked how in fall even though he doesn’t really like them, he gets sweet potatoes, chestnuts, and kabocha sent from from home. There’s no way he’d throw them away, so he has to figure out how to cook them in creative way. He decided to think about why he doesn’t like sweet potato, and he decided it was because he doesn’t like the sweetness, so he decided to try and make them less sweet, face them with the knowledge that they’re ‘potatoes’ and so he made croquette. After boiling, peeling, and mashing them he added salt and cheese, and used the escargot butter that was on Bibitto. He thought it turned out well, and that if he were a parent then he would be really good and mixing in food that his kids didn’t like and getting them to eat it. He talked about a fryer he got recently, and how when he gets really busy he end up shopping as a means of escaping reality, and he bought the fryer online.
He said that he also got a lot of a certain type of fish, Pacific saury, as many as 10 just for one person. So he’s been cooking that too. He apologized for not putting his cooking up on his jweb lately, but that since he started writing down his recipes in a binder, he’s been satisfied with that and not been uploading them. He said he’d update jweb with one soon.
Kchan NEWS (24 Oct)
Koyama started off by talking about how this is the first time in the ~15 years of Kchan NEWS that he would be doing the show by himself with no guest. He said that he’d been wanting to do this for years now, because when he does it with guests he doesn’t have a lot of opportunities to talk about himself as the MC. So, he would like to take this opportunity to talk about himself and his thoughts, and how he thinks that maybe it’d be ok if he did some episodes on his own sometimes.
He said usually this is the time when he’d ask the members about what they’ve been up to so he’ll talk about about what he’s been going recently. He that of course he has every every day, and also now drama filming in the mornings, and recently the election on top of Chikarauta and NEWS na Futari, this radio, magazines, Shonen Club Premium. He said he’s really busy, and for the first time in awhile he’s been feeling like having just one of me isn’t enough. The last time he thought that was when he was doing his play, but at that time he ended up feeling like ‘ah, I can do it with just one of me’. However, being busy is fulfilling and the busier he is the better he ends up feeling mental. He’s doing well.
K: Even in this busy period, as you all know, I still do really like the other members. Or rather, I love them. No matter what I wanted to go see Kato-san’s play. So I discussed it with my manager, and was told that there’s really not much space in my schedule. But I requested that somehow we find a day, and I went to see Green Mile.
He said that since there were people still hadn’t seen it yet, he wouldn’t spoil it, but Shige really had a lot of lines the script must be pretty thick. Even with all the lines and names and place names, he only messed up his words once. But for a play, more important than that is passion. When Koyama went on the first day, he said that Shige said to him that he messed up his line and Koyama told him not to worry, no one cares if his feelings came through. He said that Shige was really cool, and the atmosphere of the play was really unique.
Since they record the show a bit earlier than it airs, he said at this point he doesn’t know if Massu and Tegoshi will have gone to see it before the final show or not. Since, it’s finished now (by the time this airs) he revealed that the heard Tegoshi tell Shige that he would go see the final Tokyo show. Before that, he had been saying that he wanted to go see it in Kyoto, because he wanted to go out to eat in Kyoto when he went to go see the play. But Koyama told him that if he never ended up making plans to go eat in Kyoto then he wouldn’t be able to go, so he said he would go to the final Tokyo performance. So he thinks that he probably went.
Next, he wondered if ‘the sexy boy who recently dyed his hair black’ went as well. He said he’d ask later and report back.
Gai-san then said that he had a message from Shige to Koyama for his solo radio: “I’m sure that Koyama, who’s currently the busiest out of all of us, will do various things today. I’m looking forward to the show!” Koyama laughed and thanked him for the noncommittal comment, but said that he would. He asked those who want to please listen.♪ Romeo 2015 ♪
Koyama thanked everyone for all the messages they sent. The first message was about his drama, the listener wrote in to say that they thought the role of a model fit Koyama, who is handsome and has good style, really well. They asked if he had gotten close with Tama and Furupon.
K: What was that? 'Kei-chan who’s good looking and has good style’? How nice! (staff laughs) The other members won’t touch on this kind of thing. When I’m on my own I can. Ahh feels good. 'Kei-chan who’s good looking and has good style’ Thanks!
He then moved on to answer, and said that they had. He said at first he wasn’t sure if he and Tama would be able to become closer, and felt like he wasn’t sure if it was ok for him to approach him. However, as he did talk to him, it’s like what Furupon said, that Tama actually isn’t as shy as he is. Koyama said that Tama actually is pretty sociable on set, he talks to staff and invites Koyama out. He originally thought that it would be him doing all the inviting, but the first time they went it was from Tama asking him out. Today too, he got a message from Tama saying that he and Furupon were going out to eat and asked him to join and he was surprised and thought it was cute. He said that he’s happy Tama is inviting him and talked about how it doesn’t really feel like Tama is his kohai, it feels more like they’re on the same level since they entered the agency only about 1 year apart. However, in the end filming ran late and he couldn’t join them, it seems like they’ll be able to all go together soon. He said that Tama’s changed, or maybe rather he just didn’t know, but he talks a lot.
He also talked about how Tama tries to make him laugh when they’re filming. When Koyama’s filming a solo scene, Tama will stay around and stand behind the camera making weird faces at him to make him laugh. He said that he doesn’t dislike it, in fact he likes it and that he likes Tama. He said that he’s quick to like people. The next message was from a listener who said that their coworker asked them who they like in NEWS and they answered Koyama, but really they like all the members. They asked if it was better to narrow it down to just one member, and if it’s ok to just like everyone equally.
Koyama answered that he thought it was totally fine to like everyone equally. He said that like he’s mentioned before, that it makes him happy when fans holding other member’s uchiwa wave to him too. He said it’s really lonely when it’s someone who likes only one member, and not all of NEWS. He wants those people to support NEWS as a whole more. When asked ‘Who do you like in NEWS?’ he hopes that people would answer something like ‘I like them all, but I like Koyama in particular or Tegoshi in particular’. He hopes that at the base of it all is, ‘I like NEWS’.The next message was from a listener who had a hunch that a certain guy was speaking badly of them. They said that they’re not sure if it’s about them, but when they pass each other it seems as if he is and they don’t want to care about it, but they end up thinking too much about it and not wanting to go to school.
Koyama said that they're letting the person badmouthing them affect their happiness. It's just wasting their time on someone badmouthing them, and that's too sad. He said that when filming Chikarauta depending on time, either 10 minutes before or after filming they do a Q&A type thing, and someone in the audience said that they were being spoken badly of too. He said that it’s really, a waste of time to worry about that kind of thing. It’s fine if a certain person doesn’t like you, it’s impossible to be liked by everyone. He said that lately he’s been getting a lot of messages like this recently. He said he’d like to answer more messages next week and do some ‘idol-like’ things, like say some lovey things since there’s not one here to tease him for saying embarrassing things.
He did some promo for the second episode of juyo sankonin tantei, and that Nakayama Yuma would be appearing in it.

Tegomass no Radio (25 Oct)
At the opening, Tegoshi said it was Tegomass no Radio’s 150th anniversary and thanked everyone for the support. (Massu and Sakura joined in the cheering and all the nonsense on how they’ve come through various eras together. M: Tegoshi has put his katana down. T: Yup, put the katana down for the microphone. M: You did a job change. T: Uh huh. Sakura: Transformed, from a samurai. M: Stop us, instead of joining in and saying “That’s right” and all. Sakura: Sorry, I couldn’t help but get carried away, since it’s the 6th anniversary. T: Ah, it’s 6 years! M: There’s only Sakura-chan to stop us.) They finally got to properly talking about how 6 years have passed, Tegoshi will be turning 30 soon, and all of NEWS will be in their 30s, when they started out in their teens. They also jabbed Tegoshi a little for how he’s grown from a super energetic and cute person to one with laugh lines and wrinkles. They mentioned that people from SBC radio had brought the famous apples from Nagano as gifts for them. It’s great that there were people who told SBC that they wanted to listen to the programme, and at this rate, maybe they can get to Brazil too.
The request this week was for “Tsuki no Tomodachi”. The listener found the song cute and fun when they first listened to it, and realised that the song was written by Tegomass after looking it up on the web. The cute lyrics by Massu and the exciting melody by Tegoshi brightens up their day all the time. Would they please share behind-the-scenes stories for writing this song? Tegoshi said he first wrote the melody and passed the song over to Massu. He created this song together with the music producer from Johnny’s Entertainment, where both NEWS and TM's songs are created. M: Oh, serious? I thought you were going to say something stupid. Sakura: Me too. T: Sorry, sorry. Let me talk seriously, sometimes, too. M: No, it’s like some weird talk… Sakura: Like, “When you reach my level…” T: No no, isn’t that something Masuda-san would do? Give out the aura of “I’m going to say something funny” and slip with some lame joke. M: Nono… T: So as an opening, I merely started off talking properly. M: Nono, and now with that proper opening, everyone’s going to get their expectations high… T: But it’s not like I started off like I’m going to talk weird stuff. M: You did. T: I did not! M: You had that smug look. Otherwise, you really thought “Well, MY song”... Sakura: Uh huh, something along those lines. And your voice was a tone higher than usual. T: Higher? That might be because I just got a new dog and have been leading a life with regular hours. So it’s been quite a while since I woke up today. M: It’s not like the rest of us just woke up either.
They went back to the song, and Tegoshi said he finished the basic melody in 2-3 hours, and reviewed it a few times. T: And passed the song over. Go ahead. M: Well for me, I’m more of the type who has the lyrics just come to me- T: There you go. M: -so I finished it in no time. T: THIS is the face! The face of “I’m going to say something funny~” Sakura: Yup… T: And it’s not funny at all. M: OEI! T: I’m different. M: HAI! So please listen to Tegomass’ “Tsuki no Tomodachi”. 6th anniversary special project: Tegomass no Radio improvement conference!!! In order to make the programme better, all the staff (Sakura included) for the programme, would take this opportunity to give their honest opinions to Tegomass, anonymously. So please do not take things negatively. T: Of course! We’re well-known for listening to people’s opinions. M: This is the best project! Sakura: You guys don’t sound sincere… T: Do exactly as the textbook says. Follow rules. That’s what Tegomass is known for. Sakura: People who say that usually don’t. So they had surveys done separately for Tegoshi and Massu. The first person to Tegoshi. What they’d like Tegoshi to change: Standing, breaking rules, taking off clothes...this lack of control is beyond the standards for radio. Stop bullying the writer. Ignoring the rules for quizzes and games (cheating) etc. What they’d like Tegoshi to continue doing: The great spirit of taking on challenges. Not showing people how hard he works. Saying what he thinks immediately. May Tegomass no Radio give rise to a buzzword someday. The gap between his rubbish talk and the seriousness in which he deals with the listeners’ problems is attractive. M: This is by the same person? Sakura: Yup. T: I’m happy... M: Tegoshi overdoes it a little, doesn’t he? T: HAHAHHAHA. M: On the whole. Sakura: Uh huh. M: JUST a little. Sakura: Yup, just a little. Cumbersome. T: I’m not sure about people who are used to doing radio, but I’m always leave radio feeling really tired. (entire studio bursts into laughter) T: I have no idea why though. It tires me out, and my vocal chords feel more drained than when I sing. M: Because you get too excited. It’s okay if you just speak gently into the mic. Sakura: Yeah, totally. T: I’m bad at handling the mic. M: Even for concerts. T: My voice gets picked up even when I hold the mic really far away.
They then moved on to Masuda Takahisa. Things they’d like him to change: The smell from the gyoza he eats in the studio is really strong. (M: Fufufu) That makes me want to eat too. (T: It’s always that strong smell. Sakura: I agree) Things they’d like him to continue doing: The consideration he gives to the staff. Thank you for the refreshments you brought us recently. The carefree smile that will make anyone forgive you for anything, even an old uncle. Always saying funny gags. (M: Who’s an old uncle? Sakura: Which old uncle? T: It’s hard to tell, there are many old uncles outside the booth.) Always saying funny gags, and would repeat them several times when they fall flat, or when the others pretend not to hear. Maybe he’s got a surprisingly strong heart? M: This is probably from someone from Kansai. (studio laughs) Sakura: Must be a MBS staff. T: Definitely. M: This sounds very MBS-like. T: He’s bad at this. Having the accent would have given them away, and in spite of that… this is from a MBS staff who’s not very bright. M: “Maybe he’s got a surprisingly strong heart?” This is definitely not from a JE staff.
From another staff, to Tegoshi. Points to change: Liking female high school students. (T: HAHHAHA) Liking uniforms. The frequency at which he says “I want to try smelling it” confidently should be brought down to once from five times. The staff is starting to not have enough vocabulary to explain how Tegoshi isn’t some pervert, but somebody proper. His stories are also too long. (T: No way!) Tegoshi tried to say everyone’s preferences are different and everyone in the Tegomass no Radio team should help one another out.
To Masuda. There are times when people jab on him a little harshly, and his face falls and start looking like he isn’t used to being told such things. So that makes people wonder if they went too far, but please get used to it. (M: This has got to be you! Sakura: Hang on, there’s more. M: Must be you) When he starts wearing the “I’m going to say something funny” face, his hands also start becoming the “I’m going to say something funny” hands, so please be careful of that. M: It must be you. T: I see! I didn’t take notice of his hands. Can I add on? Ever since he started keeping his fringe parted down the centre, he definitely flips his fringe up before that. M: It’s as if I’m Nagano-san! Sakura: Yeap, like Nagano-san. T: Really. Sakura: So his hands also become the “I’m going to say something funny” hands. T: I see. M: So my hands also go “I’m going to say something funny”? T: Uh huh, like “Here goes, here goes!” The lead up is amazing. M: I see. All of that comes up to the surface. Sakura: Yeah. It’s not a bad thing though. M: I’ll try to be more discreet.
From the third staff, to Tegoshi. Things to change: Taking off his clothes in no time. There are times when his voice and reactions are too big. Once he starts talking about something he likes, he gets so excited, people don’t understand what he’s talking about anymore. Things to keep: How his level of excitement doesn’t change, whether it’s before the actual run or during the actual run. He honestly gets frustrated when he loses in the quizzes. His straightforwardness and seriousness. Cheating is another issue though. Reading. Though we don’t see it that much in the studio anymore. (T: Ah, that’s because I switched to digital books and read them off tablets now)
To Masuda. Things to change: The smug look when his jokes go well. Drinking so much coffee that the staff gets worried about whether his stomach can take it. (T: Ah, because he’s the coffee-man. M: Half of me is made up by coffee) Things to keep: Wearing proper attire. Being able to follow up/ give explanations in conversations. Being considerate towards the staff around him. M: This is like the complete opposite of what was being said to Tegoshi. Sakura: I thought so too. M, Sakura: Not wearing clothes properly, not being able to follow up in conversations, not being considerate towards the staff. T: Not being considerate!? What is being considerate then? M: Hurhurhurhur. T: I’ll bring beer for everyone every. Single. Time. then. That’ll end up being just tribute though. Sakura: An apple polisher. The next person wrote quite a lot.
From staff D, to Tegoshi. Their nephew, in first grade, is such a huge fan of Tegoshi that he wants to become like Tegoshi, so please do not make them have to worry about how to answer “What kind of person is Tegoshi like?” (T, M: HAHAHAHA. T: Who is this? I really have no idea!) He’s a really good moderator. They are not sure whether it’s the script or Tegoshi’s own words, but the programme moves on very naturally and they are grateful for this. While he has the image of being messed up, he’s really very gentle. How he offered to read the titles for the different segments when Masuda-san had to appear on stage plays on consecutive days in an attempt to care for Masuda-san’s throat was really cute. (T: OHHHHHH. I see. This is really warm)
To Masuda. They have no idea what to do when he looks at their eyes during long conversations. If they looked away, it would seem as if they didn’t want to continue the conversation, so they hold the look, but they get shy. There are often times when they don’t understand what he’s talking about. While Tegoshi-san would follow up the conversation or laugh, it is hard to understand where to laugh with Massu, so from now on, how about raising his hand when he reaches the part where people are supposed to laugh? (T: HAHAHHAA. Sakura: I see. T: This is new. Raising his hand when people are supposed to laugh. Sakura: Just raise the standard of the jokes.) It’s natural how he communicates with the staff. Because he also says things that allow people to make fun of him, the atmosphere in the studio gets really nice before the actual run. It’s cool how his eyes suddenly turn serious when they talk about the content for programme before the actual run, and checks through the slightest details. T: I see. Sakura: This person put in a lot of effort. T: So I guess we’re a good balance. I don’t look at the scripts even for varieties as I want to speak using my own words, so I just start talking without looking at the script. But Masuda-san properly looks at the scripts. So we’re a good balance. Sakura: It’s all thanks to Masuda-san then. T: (snorts) Sakura: Nonono...it doesn’t help even if you snort. T: I was taught to snort when I don’t know what to say. Sakura: Who taught you that!? T: My great grandmother or something. Sakura: That’s an unconventional great grandmother. M: This is interesting. Sakura: It is.
From the last staff to Tegoshi. It is okay, really okay, as the staff has gotten used how he suddenly speaks loudly into the mic, and suddenly goes really far away from the mic, so let’s work well together from now on too. M: This is definitely from the audio guy. Sakura: The audio guy. T: Because I move around, like this, so it’s hard to get the audio balance.
To Masuda. The distance he keeps from the mic is perfect. (studio bursts out laughing. T: Because he doesn’t move at all!) As expected from an artist! Thank you for always talking to the staff before the actual run. M: Thank you! T: I see. Sakura: This was great. I’m the only one who didn’t write anything nice. Sorry. I should have looked for some. T: But I was glad to hear all the opinions. M: Yeap. T: Including what people hoped for me to change. Sakura: It’s pretty much the same things people want you guys to change. T: That’s right. M: For me, it’s my jokes… (studio laughs) T: How they hope you’d change the way you throw out jokes. For me, it’s how I go crazy. M: Why don’t you try to stop moving a little? And your voice. Sakura: You turn a lot. Really. They said how this was fun, and how they’ve had a long working relationship together and to please do this again once in a while. M: Will we improve? Sakura: Let’s check on that, properly. T: I was probably the most serious during the first year after NEWS’ debut. Sakura: Return to that time.
It was the first Tegomass One-line Actors this week. Massu went first, having to say “Cultural Festival” while holding heavy things. Tegoshi had to say “This is so much fun!” while trying to bear with a sudden bout of tummy ache. T: I’m sorry, but can I stand for this? Sakura: Go ahead. Tegoshi ended up laughing halfway and had an NG cut. Even after his second try, he couldn’t stop laughing and just kept saying “I’m not cut out for this segment!” So Massu won the first round. They did another round, with Tegoshi having to say “Mother” while trying to get the audience excited during the concert. He asked to stand again for this. (M: Why do you always have to stand. T: Because I need a loud voice) T: HEYYYYY! MOTHEEEEER!!! (everyone laughs) M: Okay I lost. I lost. Sakura: It’s okay. Do your best. You can do it. Massu’s was to say “Morning. It’s already morning.” while putting something hot into his mouth (T: Oooh this is tough. Sakura: This is nice. T: Sounds like something that might happen in real life. M: Really??) Tegoshi won this round. They said they are both so bad at this it’s fun.

At the opening, he talked about how he has been watching the videos from the NEVERLAND tour. In order to make the concert DVD and bluray, the staff take a lot of time to check through the footage and join parts up. He was shown the work in progress, and to give comments like which direction to go towards. As he’s also looking very much forward to the sale of this, he wouldn’t like to have the process stuck at the members and use up more time. So it’s more like giving comments when he has any. He said the staff and everyone are doing their best, but it seems like it would take a bit more time, so please be patient with them.

The second listener said they watched the episode of Netapare when Massu did the narration. Massu’s voice was really gentle and warm and it made them feel very nice. Massu looked like he enjoyed himself, so the listener felt happy looking at that. Did Massu come up with the melody for “Netapare~”? What was difficult about doing narration? He said he was really happy to be asked to do the narration. The staff told him they would leave it up to him to decide what to do, so it was okay even if he didn’t follow the script, but he told them he would. It seemed like it was okay even if he changed parts here and there, but he followed the script down to the word, as he’s the type who’d like to properly think about what to change and all beforehand. And not the type to just say whatever he thinks of on the spot. But it was fun. Narration isn’t like dubbing, so it’s similar to radio, and it was fun so he hopes to get the chance to do it again.
The third listener also wrote in about the narration, and noticed Massu isn’t the type to wear headphones while recording narration. He said that’s because the make up artist did his hair with all their effort and he didn’t want to waste their effort, since it was between recordings. So he wore the headphones the other way round, around his chin instead of his head, otherwise they’d have to redo his hair again. He thanked the listener for watching so closely.
The fourth listener is working as a teacher at the sick bay of an elementary school. They said it seems that there are many males who would go to the sick bay not just when they are sick, but also to skip classes or play. Did Massu go to the sick bay often when he was a student? For him, there was a really pretty teacher in his middle school, so that was nice. But that teacher was surprisingly strict and would let the scary teacher know if she finds out they were just there to skip classes, so people didn’t hang out there that much. He said the white cloak is nice.
The fifth listener wrote in to say they are born visually impaired, so they have no idea what the Massu on TV looks like. However, just listening to Massu’s voice through radio makes them happy and they will continue looking forward to his radio each week. He thanked them and said that he feels this special happiness each time people tell him they are listening to his radio programme. It seems that a lot of his fans like his voice and singing, and not his face, so… "Why is that so? Is my voice better than my face?" But well, he will do his best to come up with more interesting talk, so please send in mails again.
The sixth listener congratulated him on the third anniversary of mina. She likes mina very much and look at Masu Styling every month. Massu mentioned in the September issue that females should match white shirts with brown leather strapped watches and gold accessories. She remembered that when she looked at her white shirt that morning, and matched 3 silver rings in place of gold accessories together with denim and heels. She got praised by her friends in school and was really happy. Thank you Massu. Please share more of such styling tips for females. (M: I see. Right! Right!) He said that the brown leather strapped watch with white shirts is really nice. Denim with heels is really great too. But as it’s a shirt, skirts go well too. Footwear other than heels would work too. He praised her outfit again and said he’d share more ideas when he has them.
The seventh listener said Massu is known for his love for clothes, and asked when Massu started becoming so stylish. What was the trigger? M: When was it...to go all the way back… Hmm... well, but I heard the way I was born was pretty stylish too. Like the way I said my first cry was stylish too, with a bit of vibrato. The hair looked like it was set too. Yeah… What should we do now? (sheepish laugh) He said it was probably when he was in elementary school when he first start really discovering clothes. Thank you!
The eighth listener said both red-haired and dark-haired Massu are amazing. He said on a magazine recently that he thought of dying it black at night one day and went to get it done the next day. Is he the type who goes on to realise what he thinks of immediately? He said he’s had his hair red for quite a while, but red hair is really hard to maintain. He needs to go to the hairdresser’s about once a week or so. And in order to dye his hair red, he needs to first remove the colour before dying it red again. So it’s a cycle of the colour fading, dying it again, fading, dying it again, and his hair gradually turned brown. And if he didn’t get rid of that colour in his hair, the red doesn’t turn out well. So when it came to a time when he had to go get his hair dyed again, he thought that black might work too. So he texted his hairdresser that he’s thinking of dying it black. They replied they think it’s a good idea. So he asked if they’re free the following day, and they well, so he said he’d go the following day. After he got his hair dyed black, the two of them starting heaping praises on each other, like “You look surprisingly good with black hair!” “It’s because of the good dying technique you have”. He wondered if he’s the type to materialise his words immediately, but said he doesn’t come up with such random ideas often. Like, “sou da (oh yeah), let’s do this, sou da, kyoto ikou” (He is referring to the long running “Sou da, Kyoto ikou” CM series by JR Tokai here.) He doesn’t come up with such random ideas often, but when he does, he takes action pretty quickly.

For Masterpiece this week, he picked “Stargazing” by Kygo ft. Justin Jesso. He did a brief introduction on Kygo, including that he’s ever been to Japan when he was younger.
At the end, he promoted “Okusama wa Kamisama” and “Netapare”.
