NEWS news (week of 19 Nov) Part 1

• Some information on SONGS OF TOKYO - we mentioned in the update a couple of weeks back that this programme will first air on NHK World TV on 1st & 2nd Jan 2018, and then on the general channel on 8th Jan. This NHK World TV might refer to the NHK World TV that’s available worldwide, so please check their site out, as well as your options to see if you might be able to view it from wherever you are in the world. It seems there’s also an app available, though we’re really not sure which media this will be broadcast on. Doesn’t hurt to check out the options in any case, and it’d be nice if we could all be doing the same thing at the same time across the globe, right at the start of the 2018 (or the end of 2017, for some parts of the world).




• The recording for some of the performing artists for SONGS OF TOKYO was also already done on 25 Nov, and according to a fan report, NEWS sang 4 songs - Kaguya, Chankapana, Sakura Girl, weeeek (Source)
  
  According to reports, NEWS got the crowd excited as the last act. (Source 1 2)
  
  When asked by Horan Chiaki whose fan she was, a foreign fan answered that she likes Tegoshi. Tegoshi was really happy to hear that and stood from where he was sitting and blew about 50 kisses her way. In response, Murakami Shingo (Kanjani8) also blew kisses to the same fan. (Source)
  
  When NEWS went to go sit on stage, Massu went to go sit on Tegoshi’s lap, who had sat down first. (Source)
  
  When NEWS began to sing ‘Sakura Girl’, fans of Love Live turned their penlights to pink in support. (Source)

  • He wrote about how it’s cold and he had problems waking up. He also shared how he went for a meal with Tama the previous day after they were done shooting, and Tama made the reservations again. They had a lot of fun.

  • He wrote about the Premium Show he produced, how he wanted to dance and asked the juniors to come if they can make it, and only MADE made it. The producer asked if he’d like to come up with a new song since it’s his turn at producing the show, so he did, even though he was worried the members might be annoyed or how “self producing” for group projects might seem lame. He hopes this can get released someday.

  • Koyama was mentioned briefly in Tama’s jweb when he posted a photo of 2 heaters and said the legs beside him belong to “Koyama-chan”

  • Koyama wrote about fluffy pyjamas, how he likes them, the kind he’d like girls to wear, and that he’d feel good to hug as he’s so fluffy and smells so nice at home. He also shared a photo of the fluffy blanket he uses in the car and at the filming location.

  • Koyama wrote about filming for his drama. Since it’s cold out, he said that he would rest his head on Simon’s shoulder and it makes him want to be spoiled. He included a picture of himself in fluffy loungewear.

  • It was Massu’s turn to update this week.

  
  

  • It took most of the entry for him to come up with a topic to write about this week as the character he had to go off of was ‘ru’ and ran through various ideas including, ruby, roomwear, room shoes, rusu (absence), and finally curry roux. He said that he likes his medium spicy.

  • He wrote about the new song, saying that kingdom is a good theme and how NEWS’ recent songs have a high key which will be difficult to sing live. He said  that it was a great song though, and encouraged everyone to check it out.

  • Koyama wrote about filming for his drama again and visiting a head spa in his free time in the morning. He said that that day the 6th episode would be airing, and that he’ll be watching real time with the rest of us. At the end he included a picture of himself in a robe at the head spa.

  • He shared a photo of a christmas tree from the drama set, and talked about how he has no plans for Christmas.

  • He wrote about 2 shows he watched recently - Nakamaru’s show, how Nakamaru has great ideas and is talented. Then (Morita) Go’s stage play, how Go’s role gave off an aura. He also wrote a little about Yamamoto Akira’s role in the play, as they have worked together before. Tottsu (ABC-Z) went on the same day, and they talked a little about how the next time they meet will be at the end of the year.

• Kihara Minoru posted to his blog about why he’s been missing from News every. Apparently at the end of October he broke a vertebrae in his neck and is currently in the hospital. He reports that he had surgery and is going through rehabilitation and getting better, though it’ll still take some time before he can return to work. (Source)
