• Included in the announcement of NEWSICAL was a comment from the producer, Miura Jun:
  
  “This project started with the theme of ‘step up’ as we head towards NEWS’ 15th anniversary. We were originally thinking that in the documentary we would show them attempting things they’ve never experienced before, facing barriers they cannot overcome and experiencing disappointment, show them working on the production side, present a side of them and expressions that they don’t show on TV or on stage... how much of that would you get to see?
  
  In these past few months I’ve come to see all four of their characters - one who’s worked hours so long that they can’t be conveyed on tv; one, who despite being busy with other jobs, worked quietly in between other assignments; one who worked happily and smoothly on things that would make a normal person faint over. While the four of them are very different, the one thing you can say that they all have in common is the way they seriously tackle things without cutting corners no matter what it is. I felt all over again that this is NEWS’ appeal.
  
  While seeing that side of the four members is one highlight of the program, the main thing is of course their first musical! What kind of flow and choreography will the roughly 6 minute musical have? What will the costumes be like? How will the multilayered singing sound? Through the documentary, I hope you’ll look forward to the completion and presentation of this project that they have built completely from scratch. On Christmas night, Fuji TV presents a wonderful gift from NEWS!” (Source)




• The official twitter account for FNS tweeted that NEWSICAL will include a new song (Source)




• Some previews of “NEWSICAL” from Netapare and Love Music. The NEWSICAL site is also up on Fuji TV already.




• It was announced on Dec 1st that NEWS will be appearing on this year’s Music Station Super Live, on Dec 22 (Source)




• On Johnny’s Jr.dex on December 2nd, Tegoshi ranked number 1 in a vote by juniors in the ranking of ‘If a new unit was going to be formed, which sempai would you want to be grouped with?’ Nagase Ren (Mr. King) said that he would pick Tegoshi because he’s really good at singing and would want him to teach how to sing as they sang together. Similarly, Abe Ryohei (Snow Man) said that since Tegoshi is good at singing he would want to receive voice training from him and sing a duet together. (Source)

• MADE ni Makase (Nov 28)

  
  

  • Tomioka mentioned singing “U R not alone” at MADE’s Odaiba performance. They weren’t sure whether or not to sing this song as they know how much this song means to NEWS and their fans since they were there to witness it all, but they also love this song very much and wanted to present the song in their way to their fans. He also wrote about back dancing for NEWS for SCP. It was the first time MADE performed by themselves, and to have the show start off with his solo dance made him very nervous. But he watched the broadcast and it was super cool. He also wrote about his thoughts on WONDER and how MADE sang it at the Odaiba performance too.

  • He said how “ru” is always hard for such word chain games, so he’s just going to let the next person do something with “ru” too, and used “ru-ru” (rule). He then wrote about the performance of “KINGDOM” on Best Artist, and the collaboration of “PERFECT HUMAN”. He shared how FISH BOY is actually his senior in middle school, 2 years older than him. He wrote quite a bit on how FISH BOY was already a great dancer back then and was someone everybody looked up to. So it touched him very much to be able to dance on the same stage as such a senior. At the end of the entry, he thanked RADIO FISH.

  • Koyama wrote about “NEWSICAL”, how they started in August and how he hopes this becomes the best Christmas present. He also said that they decided on him as the lead so as to bully him. He ended off with a photo of NEWS’ name with the programme’s logo, and said they were having rehearsals that day.

  • Matsushima Sou (Sexy Zone) mentioned NEWS in his jweb. He talked about going to karaoke by himself and listed some of the songs he sang. He sang ‘Chankapaana’, ‘U R not alone’, ‘Silent Love’, and ‘ LIS’N’.

  • He shared a dream he had recently on locking doors, saying it was such an impactful dream he remembered it when he woke up, something that’s really rare. He wrote a part of the recount of the dream in hashtags. As the dream took place at home, if he could design one by himself, he would want to live in a huge single room, like the one he went to in Sweden. This dream’s real.

  
  

• The members from RADIO FISH tweeted about their collaboration with NEWS on Best Artist - Fujimori said it was the best to collaborate with them. Nakata said “Respect and thanks to NEWS who put in their very best”. RIHITO said it was really fun to collaborate with them and everyone was screaming during the dance which got him excited and he started screaming too. fishboy said they sing well, feel good, are sexy, and while it isn’t nice to get too excited, he was personally very happy to have been able to perform with Kato-san. Kojikaru said NEWS x RADIO FISH x the heat from the audience created the best “PERFECT HUMAN”, and that “KINGDOM” is amazing too. • Yoshida Saori also tweeted about it saying, “Ahh the NEWS and Radio Fish Collaboration was the best😆💓” (Source) To which RIHITO replied saying thanks and that NEWS sings really well, was nice to fool around with them during rehearsals, said it was the hardest amongst all the collaborations this time, and it was just a lot of fun. • heroism tweeted about ‘Kingdom’ on December 2nd, saying that there’s been a lot of responses to it already. He wrote, composed, and arranged it and said that it's a song based on, and a level-up from 'WORLD QUEST, which he wrote for NEWS in 2012. (Source)




• Matsushima Sou (Sexy Zone) said on his radio show that Massu messaged him to wish him a happy birthday. (Source)
