NEWS news (week of Jul 1)

Thursday July 5th was the recording for Inochi no Uta. It was announced that the Chugoku Region’s advance broadcast will be on July 30th (Mon) and the Nationwide broadcast on August 6th (Mon).

Inochi no Uta Fes recording Fan reports:

- Tegoshi and Shige both folded paper cranes for the program, a picture of them is included in the source. (Source)
- Tegoshi apparently sang a song that included a kids chorus, and properly greeted and thanked them at the start and finish of the song. (Source)
- At the end of the recording Shige and Tegoshi also both sang together in the same song. (Source)
- While Tegoshi was performing, Shige was singing along silently to the song. (Source)
- When Tegoshi was done singing, Shige praised him saying ‘[He’s] good at singing!!’ Tegoshi also apparently praised Shige too saying that ‘[He’s] 120% good at MCing’ and added that when Shige introduced him as ‘Tegoshi Yuya-san’ it was embarrassing since Shige usually just calls him ‘Tegoshi’. Masuda Takahisa no Marumaru (Jul 4)
- Masuda Takahisa no Tanjoubi (Birthday)
- He wrote how he’s now 32 and an adult. It’s his busiest period now, but he’ll do his best everyday to become a cool adult. Thank you for always support him. He then listed all the work he has on hand now, and said he’s blessed. He ended off asking us to look forward, and “Yay”.

NEWSRING (Jul 4)
- It was Shige’s turn to update
- Shige wished Massu a happy birthday, and said that they were working together the moment that he turned 32. He talked about how April next year will mark 20 years in Johnnys and so he’s been with Massu for over 19 years, he’s celebrated many birthdays with him and will celebrate many more.
  He wished him a happy birthday and thanked him, saying it’s embarrassing to say so directly. He also mentioned that he gave Massu the shoes that he had been meaning to give him.
  He also talked about being busy filming for the drama and talked about making umeboshi.

Shigeaki no Cloud (Jul 4)
- Shige wrote about how he heard that Blue got No.1 on the Single Charts and said that he’s really thankful. He also said that he heard from his publisher that Kasa wo Motanai Aritachi wa will get a second printing, and how thankful he is. He also mentioned how NEWS will be singing ‘Ikiro’ for the Zero theme song, saying that he’s just as happy that NEWS gets to do the theme as he is for getting to play the lead role.

Masuda Takahisa no Marumaru (Jul 7)
- Masuda Takahisa no Ichi i (First Place)
- He wrote he heard they got no. 1 for weekly charts too. He’s happy and thanked everyone.
  He then wrote it’s THE MUSIC DAY and CDTV today. As well as tanabata, and he hopes everyone’s dreams come true.

Masuda Takahisa no Marumaru (Jul 8)
- Masuda Takahisa no Senga
- He asked if everyone watched THE MUSIC DAY and CDTV, saying it’s amazing how they got to sing 2 of their new songs, “IKIRO” and “BLUE”. It was also a coincidence that Abi-kun appeared.
  He then shared a story of how Senga (Kis-my-ft2) told him after the medley that he properly “kept his face”, but Senga… it’s “faith” (Massu wrote this in english). He ended off by saying it was like a dream to dance with Go-kun (V6).

For those who have been following Master Hits, you will remember Massu talking about the “Best Jeanist” award last year when a listener wrote in to congratulate him on placing 6th. (REF: Oct 13 2017 Master Hits) Well, the vote for this year is open, so let’s try to get him to number 1 this year!
To vote, go to the Best Jeanist site, and scroll all the way down. You’ll see this box for you to fill in the name for a male nomination as well as a female nomination. NOTE 1: that you HAVE to fill in both for the vote to be valid.

Fill in “増田” for 姓 and “貴久” for 名. And the female talent of your choice. NOTE 2: The nominations have to be for Japanese talents based in Japan.

- Ishii Yuki, one of the cast members from “Only You” tweeted to wish him Happy Birthday (Source)
- Former wrestler Hokuto Akira wrote on her blog that she went for the recording for “Sore Dame!” today and Massu was there too. She had a slice of happiness shared with her (the cake). She wished Massu happy birthday and that it would be a year filled with smiles. (Source)
- One of the cameramen for “Sore Dame!” tweeted to wish him happy birthday (Source)
- The Television tweeted to say it’s his birthday today and wished him happy birthday (Source)
- mina posted a photo of the fruit tart they bought for Massu on their instagram account, saying they celebrated for him in advance. They thanked readers for supporting his column, which will be entering its 5th year soon. Masuda-san and the staff puts in their best to bring the page to readers, throwing out ideas together. Please continue to look forward to it.
  They also shared how Massu has been filing the pages of his column since the first issue, and all the staff are extremely thankful. (Source)
- NTV announcer, Aoki ana, who works on “PON!” with Massu, tweeted part of the lyrics from “Happy Birthday” and that to him now, every Monday is the special, magical day each week. He also said to look forward to the performance of “Ikiro” on Jul 7. (Source)
- PON! also used lyrics from “Happy Birthday”, and congratulated him on his birthday as well as “BLUE” getting no. 1 on Oricon. (Source)
- zopp tweeted to say it’s Massu’s birthday, and that he’s already hit such an age! When they first met, he was… he can’t remember. (Source)
- air:man posted a simple “Happy Birthday” with no name mentions, so it’s up to everyone to figure if it was for Massu. (Source)
- NEWS ni Koishite tweeted to wish him Happy Birthday as well as promote his birthday event in the game. (Source)
- Matsushima Sou (Sexy Zone) updated his Jweb on the 4th and wished Massu a happy birthday there.
- Miyajima Sakura wished Massu a happy birthday on twitter when she tweeted about Tegomass no Radio. (Source)
- Imai Taro, the writer for Tegomass no Radio, tweeted about how this week’s Tegomass no Radio was a premium one, being both the 350th episode as well as Massu’s birthday.
