NEWS 20th anniversary album & tour "NEWS EXPO"

It was announced over 26-27 June that NEWS will be dropping a new album, “NEWS EXPO”, and having a tour of the same name.

Lots of details to come, so please bear with the length of this post!

1) NEW ALBUM RELEASE ON 9 AUG

NEWS’ 13th album, “NEWS EXPO”, is an anniversary super best album to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

Disc 1 will be made up of new songs and new stories to create the NEWS EXPO world.

Disc 2 will be made up of a selection of songs from the fan vote ranking, re-recorded by the 3 of them.

LE A’s extras include “Different Lives” - a short film scripted by Shige, themed around “If they had led different lives”, as well as live footage and audio from their performance at METROCK 2023.

LE B’s extras include 9 of their past songs selected by the members, as well as all of the past limited livestreams - PREMIUM LIVE, PREMIUM LIVE 2, and Ongaku -AFTER BREATH-.

This album is NEWS’ 20th anniversary masterpiece, one that can help you see how all of their past stories were connected.

Now, let’s start unravelling their 20 years of history.

“Different Lives” is a drama created in celebration of their 20th anniversary, themed around “if they had led different lives”. For everyone currently leading their lives, there were all sorts of possibilities that could have happened.

The same applies to NEWS. They are where they currently are now, because all their choices, and their passions, intersected to lead them to where they are. The final message encompasses everything that the current NEWS is, and represents their pledge to their 20th anniversary. An original short film written by Kato Shigeaki.

2) NEWS SPECIAL LIVE EVENT

To commemorate the release of their 13th album, NEWS will be holding a “NEWS Special Live Event”! Participants will be randomly selected from those who have purchased “NEWS EXPO”, and be invited to the venue.

NEWS’ 20th anniversary. This is the start of a new story.

Join Team NEWS for a special and amazing live experience.

In addition, there are plans to stream “NEWS Special Live Event” at a later date. This ensures that everyone who has applied to join the event gets to see the event footage.

To apply to join/watch the event, you will need the serial codes from all versions of “NEWS EXPO”.

Participation criteria

Collect 1 unique serial code from each version of the album

• LE A: Serial code 1

• LE B: Serial code 2

• RE: Serial code 3

Any other combinations of the serial codes will not be valid.

Event date/venue

• Scheduled to be held sometime between the end of 2023 to the start of 2024, somewhere near the Tokyo metropolitan area

• Actual dates and event area will be announced before application begins

• Exact date, time, and venue will only be released to the winners

• Transportation to the venue and accommodation expenses will be borne by the winners

How to join

Access the following site and enter 3 serial codes in all (1 unique serial code each from LE A, LE B, and RE) during the application period. That makes one complete entry

• Each person can apply more than one time

• Once a serial code has been used, it cannot be used again

• If you do not wish to participate in the actual physical event, you can also choose to just opt to stream the event. Please select that option when entering the serial codes. You will also need 3 unique serial codes to apply for streaming only.

Balloting is open for FC members, and will close at 11 am JST on 3 July.

OMG, I've been waiting for this announcement...
I really wish that I could watch them live, it's always been my dream even if they're not complete anymore...

will definitely get this new album to support them and try to watch the stream...
