news_jpop*waves shyly* Hiya everyone~
So, I just recently got into NEWS and I love them already. XD Especially the song Akaku Moyuru Taiyou, so addicting. @_@ I just have some questions, being a n00b 'n all. XD Um, I was wondering... it looks like Ryo Nishikido and Hiroki Uchi (er, Uchi was?) are in both NEWS and Kanjani8? Isn't that a little difficult for them to manage being in two bands at once? And I was wondering about the whole story of Uchi's suspension, if anyone could fill me in (sorry if it's troubling to do so; I myself cried when I found out about Kusano, and I don't even know the band all that well yet), and if he's suspended in NEWS then what about Kanjani8? And there was another member before Uchi that quit for some reason?
Also, I was wondering if anyone could share... anything Massu with me. XD I love him, he's so adorable. *-* I especially want pictures, but would appreciate clips or anything else that could be offered. ^^ I already have a couple of small things, which I uploaded to share in the off chance someone doesn't already have them.

Yep, Ryo and Uchi are in both News and Kanjani8 (Uchi's still on suspension leave). It is pretty tough on them, since they have to do a lot of travelling between Tokyo and Osaka, but they've been doing really well so far!! They try and spend their time equally with both groups~
About Uchi's suspension, he was brought out with Fuji TV staff, and it's said that one of the staff, Yukino Kikuma, was the one that actually got him to drink. Afterwards, he was left by himself and ended up causing a scene in public and even kicked a car. ~_~ He was taken into police custody shortly, and then the news got out that he was drinking underaged. Hopefully Uchi will be back soon though! Everyone's speculating on whether or not he'll return for the News calendar and their new single. ^^
For Massu stuff, I'd probably suggest checking out different Massu websites like this one: http://www.takahisamasuda.net/ He's sooo cuteeee~~ (If you can, you should check out his new drama with Tegoshi! It's called Gachibaka~ You can download it on http://d-addicts.com/)

I have indeed noticed the catchiness of NEWS songs. 8D Ahah, seriously, what kept me from discovering them earlier? *headdesk* From now on I vow to thoroughly investigate EVERY Asian band/singer name I hear about right away. XD
Ahh, I see. That must be hard for them to do, but obviously they don't mind too much. X3 So, since Uchi's suspended, he's suspended from both NEWS and Kanjani8 then? I haven't seen recent perfs or... anything from either one, so I wouldn't know.
Oh my Gackt. D: It's so hard when stuff like that happens, you don't know what to think, huh? But I still stay on their sides. Unless, like, they go on homicidal rampages and threaten fans with bloody knives... XD That would be a bad thing. I hope he returns soon, though, and with Kusano. ^^
YAY! Massu site! XD It's difficult searching NEWS things on Google, for I get just that: actual news. XD Aha! D-A harbouring a drama with Massu in it that I do not know about?! *downloads immediately* >3

Date: 2006-02-02 01:05 pm (UTC)Uchi was suspended from both groups due an incident involving underage drinking this past summer. His suspension is a way to keep him out of the public eye until after the scandal dies down. This makes more sense when you realize that the shelf-life of a Japanese idol also depends on how scandal-free they can manage to stay.
I've been wondering if Kusano's actions might have an effect on Uchi. In order to keep as scandal free as possible and to keep the press as nice as possible, they might try to bring them back together, so they only have to deal with the issue once more, instead of twice more. But I'm tangenting...

Fans were (and still are) split on what to make of the issue. Some don't think Uchi should have been punished the way he was, and on the other end of the spectrum, some even petition for him to resign as to save NEWS' reputation. Yeah, that makes sense, too. Plus it would be nice to see them both back at once, you know? Like a reunion. X3
Whoa! Petitions to have Uchi resigned?! o_o I can understand, but that seems extreme to me, especially in the eyes of his fans. Eesh, poor NEWS. @_@
